Lynn Marie Froehlich Boone

Nov 16, 1950 — Jul 7, 2026

Indianapolis, IN

Lynn Marie Froehlich Boone passed peacefully on July 7, 2026 surrounded by family members. She was born in Chicago, IL to Ralph and Evelyn Froehlich, (nee Lozkiewicz), and was the eldest of 8 children. Her family moved around the US with Ralph’s work in the US Navy and later for Micro Switch, a division of Honeywell. They settled in Indianapolis in 1963, where Evelyn would later create the Montessori Centres (1969) school in support of her daughter Annette, born with Down’s syndrome. Lynn graduated from St. Joan of Arc middle school and Bishop Chatard High School in 1967. Her Bachelors was awarded in 1971 from Our Lady of Edgecliff College in Cincinnati, OH.

Lynn studied abroad in Valencia, Spain and after college graduation moved to Copenhagen, Denmark to work before returning to Indianapolis 1974. In Indianapolis, Lynn was a travel agent, specializing in athletic travel for NCAA. In 1977, Lynn married Robert Dennis Boone and they were the proud parents of Matthew (1981), Joanna (1983), and John (1985). Following the Pan-American games of 1987, Lynn changed careers and became a Montessori educator at the Montessori Centres. Lynn worked alongside her parents to provide a quality Montessori environment for her three children, as well as hundreds of other children in the Indianapolis area. In 1998, Lynn acquired the school and kept it going until retiring in 2016.

In addition to the demands of the school, Lynn contributed many volunteer hours to Special Olympics, Funtastics, UMSI (United Montessori Schools of Indiana), and cared for her sister Annette. Following retirement, Lynn continued living independently, volunteered extensively for Funtastics, and worked the voting polls as often as possible during election seasons. She loved the friendly community at the Jordan YMCA and later the Ascension PACE program.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings Michael and Annette. She is survived by her children Matthew (married to Natalie Olden-Stahl, father to Madeline and Lenora), Joanna (married to Joshua Friers, mother to Bronson), John (married to Katherine Wilson, father to Robert/Robbie and Peter), siblings Ralph Jr (Linda). Jimmie (Kami), Susan, Bill (Jean), and Angi (Ron), and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
