Lynda L. Reid left us on January 6, 2014. Lynda was born in Indianapolis on April 28, 1938, to the late Donald and Virginia Laird and was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School. She later married Vernon D. Reid and was a loving and lively mother of her 3 children: Carl Verbarg, Vicky (Tom) Rockwell, Fritz (Melissa) Verbarg; as well as Vern's four children: Kittie (John) Lake, Penny (Henry) Sickels, Scott (Patty) Reid, and Tammy Householder.
Lynda worked 11 years as property manager for G. V. Ginger & Associates, followed by 22 years as executive secretary and inside sales at Fuller Engineering, nine years as construction secretary for Steak n Shake and two years as secretary & assistant at David Epstein Realtors. Lynda retired in January of 2007.
Lynda and Vern were both lovers of auto racing and served 8 years with the 500 Festival Association.
Lynda was an avid and talented gardener and a fanatic for anything turquoise or yellow. She will be remembered for the deep care of her extended family of 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren as well brother, R.D. (Julie) Laird and their grown children Brian (Audrey) Laird and Cheryl (David) Appleby, brother-in-law, Robert Reid and his grown children Mike (Sandy) Reid and Mark Reid.
Visitation will be noon to 2pm on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center Broad Ripple, followed by a memorial.
Lynda will join Vern in entombment at Washington Park North Cemetery.
