Lura "Jo" D. Jackson

Lura “Jo” Jackson, 96, passed away on August 11, 2022. She was born on September 17, 1925, in Paris, IL to the late Frank and Edna Miller.  She was married to her husband, Jim, for 63 years.  She had many adventures over the years, including airplane racing and traveling domestically and abroad to such places as Japan, Singapore & Thailand, with her husband. While her kids were in High School, she was the cashier in the Warren Central cafeteria lunchroom.  All the kids knew and loved Mrs. Jackson.  After her kids all graduated high school, Jo started working for IUPUI as an administrative assistant in the Architectural department until her retirement in 1997.

Jo loved life and it reflected in her everyday living. She loved meeting her friends for church & taught Sunday school until 2020.  She also enjoyed shopping & going to lunch with the girls.  Most of all, she loved her kids and grandkids.  She was a proud mother of four children, James (Paula), Mark (deceased), Pam (Mike), and Jay, and seven grandchildren:  Megan, Christopher, Michelle, Kai, Weston, Andrew, and Joseph.

Jo is preceded in death by her husband, Jim (2013), and her son, Mark (1996).

A visitation will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 11-1PM at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington St. A funeral service will immediately follow visitation, starting at 1PM. Jo will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery.
