Lula M. Skaggs

Lula M. Skaggs 91, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012. Lula was born May 28, 1921, in Indianapolis, IN, a daughter of Thomas and Sadie Donnelly. Lula was a member of the first girls' high school basketball team in Indianapolis. After working 34 years, Lula retired from RCA in 1986. She was the organizer of the Grandmother's Club of Indianapolis and they traveled all over the Country. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading mystery books and making crafts. She leaves to forever cherish her memory, her son, Darrell L. (Sharon) Skaggs, her daughter, Carole (David) Fannin; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren. Lula was preceded in death by her husband Norman A. Skaggs, her parents; one daughter Norma Lou Fluharty, her brother, Jim Donnelly; sisters, Irene, Bea, Ellen and June. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan. Interment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
