Luella A. Simpson, 92, formerly of Indianapolis passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 in Sanford, Florida. She was born September 29, 1921 in Cavour, South Dakota to the late Lawrence Harper and Alice Banks Harper Wolfe.
Luella graduated from Manual High School. She retired after 15 years as an office manager at Sullivan-Poore, Inc. and 20 years at A&P Tea Company.
She was a Past Grand Council President of Alpha Sigma Chi, Chair Lady at St. Andrew's Society, past member of Daughters of the Nile, Oriental Shrine, the Shrine Guild, Indy Ives, and the First Christian Church in Venice, FL.
Luella is survived by her children Nancy Pigecella and David Heath; siblings Donald Harper, Mary Lou (Delmar) Potter, Betty Earleywine, and Shirley (Fred) Miller; 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Luella was preceded in death by husbands Edward Heath and William Simpson, as well as a sister Bessie Medaris.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 18 at 1 PM with visitation 11:30 AM until the time of service at Flanner and Buchanan - Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington, Indianapolis. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Venice, FL.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
