Loyce D. Porter

Loyce D. Porter, 92, of Greenfield, IN went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 27, 2026.

She was born in Scottsville, KY on August 27, 1933 to Charles and Golda (Wallace) Wade.

She married James C. Porter on May 29th, 1954. They were married 68 years until his passing in June 2022. They had two daughters- Lynetta Likens of Greenfield, IN and Alisa Gammons of Greenwood, IN. They had 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren whom they loved and adored.

Loyce lived a life dedicated to her family and church. She was a longtime member of Aldersgate Free Methodist Church on the east side of Indianapolis and used her talents helping especially with missions. She loved decorating the church for the holidays and banquets. In their later years, she and James enjoyed outings with the Seniors Group. She also had a women’s bible study in her home for many years.

Loyce loved anything to do with flowers, plants and gardens. She especially loved her beautiful orchids!

Loyce was preceded in death by her husband James C. Porter; parents Charles and Golda Wade; brother Larry Wade and her son-in-law Kevin Gammons.

Loyce is survived by her daughters, Lynetta (John) Likens and Alisa Gammons; 5 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. They will miss her deeply alongside her many friends and extended family.

Visitations will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, located at 10722 E Washington St, Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 5, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on February 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service will follow on February 6, at 12:00 PM, with a graveside service at Washington Park East Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
