Louise Marie (Tschida) Harrington, 90, Noblesville IN, left us as quietly and peacefully as she lived her life at her home on February 25, 2015. Louise was a joy to behold, deeply loved, and will be truly missed by her family and many friends.
Louise was born August 20, 1924, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Leo and Helen (Kekko) Tschida, and was preceded in death by her sister Helen (Tschida) Madaras. A native of South Bend, Louise was graduated from Riley High School, and played many sports, including softball and track (IGAA long jump champion). Before starting a family, Louise worked for the Studebaker Corporation, and later in life worked for the State of Indiana, as well as at Penn High School, Mishawaka IN.
With an eye for great design, Louise was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed decorating and gardening. Dancing and golf were favorite activities throughout her lifetime.
Louise is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Harold W. Harrington, daughters, Sandra (Don) Huyvaert of South Bend, IN and Pam (Doug) Niccum of Carmel, IN, 4 grandchildren, Jason (Nicol) Huyvaert of Watertown South Dakota, Stacy (Marc) Bogard of South Bend, Jaime Huyvaert of South Bend, Nikki (Kevin) Coquillard of Niles Michigan, ten great grandchildren, and one niece Sue (Chris) Darnold.
The family extends its sincere and heartfelt thanks to Mia Haggerty, Kristin Braiman, Paula McCarter, and Arline Hill, RN for their tender care of Louise during this past year. Each of you have touched our lives in a very special way.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17102 Spring Mill Road. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Flanner and Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park, 4180 Westfield Road, with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.flannerbuchanan.com. ,
