Louis Joseph Wampler
Fishers – Louis Joseph Wampler, 93, Fishers, passed away April 11, 2022. He was born August 24, 1928, the 3rd of four children to the late Frederick L. and Florence K. Wampler. He attended St. Vincent de Paul Grade School, Bedford, and Warren Central High School, Indianapolis, graduating in 1946.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Bernadine J. Wampler, and his brothers, Fred and James Wampler.
Survivors include his children, Monica Edwards, David (Sandy) Wampler, Susan (Jeff) Anderson, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his sister Dorothy Riggs.
He served as a sergeant in the Korean War from 1950 – 1952 and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was in Sales with Vonnegut Hardware, and Sales and Purchasing with Van Camp Hardware and Iron Company. He later started his Manufacturer’s Rep Agency, Wampler & Associates, and retired at the age of 80 in 2008. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 21 at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, 11441 Hague Rd., Fishers, IN 46038 with visitation from 10-11 a.m. and Mass following at 11:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 3001 E. 30th St., Indianapolis, IN 46218 or Disabled American Veterans, 170 Airport Parkway, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.
