Lou "Ron" Ronald Rury

Lou Ronald “Ron” Rury, 77, passed away on October 21, 2023, in Indianapolis, IN.

Ron Rury was born on July 26, 1946, in Auburn, NY, to Richard P. and June N. Rury.

Ron graduated from Eastern Kentucky University and went on to earn a master's degree.  He started his career as a Business Analyst and went on to work as a federal employee for over 20 years.

Ron married Patricia Rury in July 1974 in Jeffersonville, IN. They recently celebrated their 49th anniversary together.

Ron was best known for his love of reading, listening to country music, playing computer games, animals, numbers, and sarcasm.

Ron also served in the Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal with four Bronze Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, and Army Commendation Medal with one OLC.

Ron is survived by Patricia Rury - wife of Indianapolis, IN.

 Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Richard P. and June N. Rury; and his brothers, Jon Rury and Glen Rury.

A funeral will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 1PM at Flanner Buchanan—Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46229. Visitation will be from 11AM until the time of the service. Ron will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery.
