Obituary

Born a GIFT in every sense of the word, LORYN JAMILA RAMAGE, entered and blessed the world with her presence on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2002 with her parents, Cherie Thompkins Ramage and the late Barry F. Ramage, Sr.

Loryn always excelled academically and was a high achiever. At Hamilton Southeastern High School, she graduated magna cum laude with a 4.2 GPA and an Academic Honors diploma. Her senior year of high school, Loryn was offered a total over $1.4 million dollars in academic scholarships from numerous business schools across the country.

With a full academic scholarship and as a fifth-generation student, Loryn chose to attend the best university in the world- The Indiana University. Loryn was accepted as an early admittee into the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with several academic scholarships and programs. She was a Hudson-Holland Honors scholar, a Dean’s Council scholar, a Founder’s scholar, and a KODI scholar and student advisory board member. She became a member of the Alpha chapter of Mu Beta Lambda Business Fraternity, Inc, the nation’s 1st and only minority business fraternity.

Loryn lived a full college life experience. She did a spring internship in Costa Rica her sophomore year and a summer internship in Copenhagen, Denmark. She was a mentor for the MEET Kelley program that once mentored her and she also was a lead research intern for the Black Women and Technology Alliance team with the IU Center for Excellence for Women and Technology. The summer after her junior year she did an internship as a consulting analyst with Accenture in their Chicago office, and Accenture immediately offered her a full-time job after her graduation the following year.

Loryn received several awards- “Outstanding Student Leadership” award from the Center of Excellence for Women and Technology, “Kelley Black Fry Woman Trailblazer” award from the Kelley School of Business, and even “Best Dressed” from her business fraternity Mu Beta Lambda. In May 2025, Loryn graduated with a Bachelors of Science and a TRIPLE major in Information Systems, Business Analytics, and Sustainable Business.

Loryn started her job as a Management Consulting Analyst for Accenture, an information systems company, in Chicago. While living in Chicago with her roommates, Ashley and Veronica, Loryn enjoyed exploring the endless opportunities in the city. Loryn enjoyed thrift shopping, trying different restaurants, book clubs and reading, fashion, movies and music.

Loryn was preceded in death by her father, Barry F. Ramage, Sr. great-grandparents Gwendolyn and Carl Lightfoot and Barbara and James Curtis. She is survived by her mother, Cherie Thompkins Ramage, Esq, brothers Shawn Williams and Barry Ramage, Jr., grandparents, William and Lorre Lightfoot Thompkins, nephews, Carter, Kairo and Nikoa Willaims and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.
