Lorraine Louise Seitz Vollnogle

Lorraine Vollnogle, 96, of Terre Haute and Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, February 12,2022. Born Lorraine Louise Leonard on September 30, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Ralph and Bertha (Heise) Leonard. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James (Jim) Vollnogle, her older brother Raymond and her granddaughter Shelley Seitz..

Lorraine was employed for much of her career as an executive secretary for senior management at a number of employers, including the Terre Haute Ordinance Depot, ISU and WBOW. She served a short time as a fashion buyer for the famed Boulevard Room of the Meis Department Store in Terre Haute, but felt that the travel required took too much time away from her most important role as mother to her beloved three young sons. Most importantly, she was a gifted watercolorist and published poet.

Lorraine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dan and Cindy Seitz of Avon, son and daughter-in-law Rick and Barbara Seitz of Dublin, Ohio, son Tim Seitz of Terre Haute, stepdaughters Leslie and Lori Vollnogle of Framington,MA, and Lisa Vollnogle and stepson-in-law Ron Schafer of Pendleton, IN, grandson Shane Seitz, granddaughters Katherine Willis, Sarah Collura, and Taylor Seitz and stepdaughters Jaime Miller and Jessica Vollnogle, as well as six great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Lorraine Vollnogle on May 14, 2022 at the Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Home at Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. Family visitation will from 11:30 a.m. Public viewing starts at 12:30 p.m. with service at 1:30 and Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of Terre Haute, IN or The Alzheimers Association.
