Lorna H. Burns

Lorna H. Burns, 93, resident of Meadow Lakes Senior Community of Mooresville, passed away April 3, 2011. She was born August 12, 1917 in Birch Run, Michigan to Alma and Otto Keinath. Lorna was a graduate of the St Lorenz Evangelical Lutheran School in Frankenmuth, Michigan. Lorna owned and operated a nursing home at Mt Comfort and later employed for many years as a nurse at Culver Hospital, Greencastle where she retired. She was a charter member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and later at Mt Olive Lutheran Church. Lorna was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Frederick M. Burns, sister Hulda Engelhardt and brother Alvin Keinath. Lorna is survived by her children Kathleen (Alfred) Pattmann of Mooresville, In, Mark F. (Doracy) Burns of Miami, Florida, and Patrick A. (Evelyn) Burns of Darlington, IN, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, April 7 from 4 to 8pm at Mt Olive Lutheran Church, 5171 W. Smokey Row Road, Greenwood. Private entombment will be Friday morning at the Washington Park East Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be Friday at noon at Mt Olive Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeff Alexander officiating.
