Loretta Ann Bridges

Loretta Ann (Scaggs) Bridges, age 93, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, in Fishers, Indiana.

She was born on November 30, 1932, in Annapolis, Missouri, to the late Jefferson William Scaggs and Clara Ann (Rayfield) Scaggs.

Loretta was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her husband of 51 years, George Bridges; her son, Gary W. Bridges; her sisters, Eva Toppins and Josephine Stevenson; and her grandson, Aaron J. Bridges.

Loretta moved to Indianapolis in 1989, where she became a devoted member of Northside Baptist Church. Her faith was central to her life, and she faithfully volunteered with the church’s mission efforts and remained very active in Sunday School, forming lifelong friendships and serving others with quiet dedication.

Loretta had a deep love for her family and took great joy in attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, never missing a chance to cheer them on. She also dearly loved her dog, Lucy, her smart and devoted cockapoo companion who brought her much comfort and companionship.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, David Bridges (Lynda); her sisters, Wanda Hutsler and Cindy Schultz; her granddaughter, Jamie R. Bridges (Darryl LeFevre); and her great-granddaughter, Jada A. Bridges, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel, Indiana 46032. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m.

Burial will take place at Meadows Cemetery in Annapolis, Missouri on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 11am.
