Loreta Alexander

Loreta Margaret Hooker Alexander, 91, passed away on April 6, 2012. She was born on April 24, 1920, in Scottsburg, Indiana, attending Scottsburg schools and graduated from Kokomo High School. She was a member of Traders Point Christian Church and Eastern Star (Corinthian Chapter). Loreta enjoyed participating with friends in Red Hat activities and Homemaker's Club in Pike Township. She also had fond memories of events and travel in both Lion's Club and Farm Bureau with her husband, Forrest. Loreta was known as a smiling face around Zionsville Meadows, where she spent many years volunteering and entertaining residents by playing the organ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Forrest M. Alexander, and her two daughters, Barbara Alexander and Patricia Alexander. She is survived by her son, Leonard S. Alexander and wife Shirley A. Alexander. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Julie A. Kershner, Jason S. Alexander, Jennifer L. Medema, and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 am to 1 pm Thursday at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North with funeral services to follow at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Traders Point Chrstian Church or Amedisys Hospice Services of Indianapolis.
