Lora Jean Whitlock

Lora Jean Whitlock, 88, of Indianapolis passed away on July 30, 2019.

Lora was born on November 9, 1930 in Portland, Tennessee to the late George and Ethel Ragan. She was married to Uriah Whitlock on May 18, 1968. She retired from Western Electric, was a member of Lawrence Church of the Nazarene for over 20 years and was very active in the community volunteering for Wheeler Mission. She was a generous person, who was always giving of herself without reservation and will be missed by those who knew her.

She leaves behind her children, Linda Allen, Steve Whitlock, Alan Whitlock, and Faithe Schwartzengraber (Michael); grandchildren, Bart Allen (Gina), David Allen (Jacinda), Tammy Becht (Ben); great grandchildren, Hope, Becca, Hollie, Connor, Zane, Jacob, Taylor; and great-great grandchildren, Alden and Katara. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 bothers, and 1 sister.

A funeral service will take place at 10:00am on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East, with visitation from 9:00am-10:00am.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lora’s memory may be made to Wheeler Mission.
