Lon L. McCoy, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away, July 29, 2012. Lon was born August 23, 1944 in Merrimac, WV son of George and Ida (Hatfield) McCoy. He was a US Army Veteran. Lon had worked for Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central, Conrail and retired from CSX in 2005 after 40 years as a Locomotive Engineer. He was an avid golfer, playing at least 3 times a week. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Linda Lott and a brother, Larry McCoy.
Lon is survived by his wife, JoAnn (Kerr) McCoy; a daughter, Ronda Manning and her husband Tom of Monrovia, IN; a son, George McCoy and his wife Angela of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Chapin, Madison and Max Manning, Dustin Goodman and Kayla and Eric McCoy; great grandchildren, Aiden Goodman and Jaida Manning; brothers, Henry McCoy of Jasper, FL, George McCoy and his wife Jane of Lexington, SC, Frankie McCoy and his wife Anita of Burnwell, KY and David McCoy and his wife Diane of Richmond, KY; sisters, Mildred Bass and her husband Winston of Live Oak, FL, Martha Harvel and her husband Danny of Turkey Creek, KY, and his sister in law, Teddie McCoy of Punta Gorda, FL.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 6 until 8pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd. Indianapolis, IN. Funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery
