“Pat” Lois Patricia Woodworth
After coming of age during the Great Depression, Pat Woodworth (age 91) worked side-by-side with her husband on their family farm in Noblesville, Indiana while raising five children. Pat lived a full life fueled by her curiosity in many interests including her love of gardening, botany, and orchards with a special interest in nut-bearing trees. As a volunteer and employee at the Conner Prairie Museum, Pat worked to preserve the lost arts of weaving, spinning, wool dying and the reproduction of historic textile artifacts. Her lifelong career at Conner Prairie spanned 47 years where she especially enjoyed participating in “Sheep to Shawl” competitions with her friends on the “Webslingers” team. She entered contests in spinning and weaving at the Indiana State fair, winning many awards. She generously shared her knowledge, was an enthusiastic listener, and extended a helping hand to everyone.
Pat loved and supported her family with steadfast patience, persistence, and generosity. Pat was preceded in death by Stanley Williard Woodworth (deceased 1997). She is survived by four generations; her five children: Judy Hancock, Nedra (Jim) Holloway, Sandra Childress, Barbara (Mark) Allen and Austin (Kelley) Woodworth, 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Additional surviving family members include her older sister, Dorothy Mottweiler (age 96) as well as the Amos, Brinsley, Helton-Luke and Millholland families. She will be greatly missed.
