Lois Jean Schoop

Lois Jean Schoop, 80, of Munster, Indiana, passed away on October 2, 2025. She was born on April 7, 1945, in Chicago, IL to parents, Clarence and Anita (Ohde) Lindstrom. 

Lois grew up on the South Side of Chicago. She graduated from Hammond High School in 1963. She received a B.A. Degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

Lois married her high school sweetheart on June 14, 1969. They lived in northwest Indiana while Lois taught first grade, and Mark took over his father’s restaurant. After giving birth to Julie and Adam, she stayed home to be a full- time mom.

Lois loved golfing and had many fun times being a member and golfing at Woodmar Country Club. She and Mark enjoyed traveling with friends and also entertaining family and friends at their lake house in Rochester, Indiana. She was a wonderful hostess, and created a warm, welcoming, and loving home. They loved spending the winters in Vero Beach, Florida. Spring break was a time when her children and grandchildren would come to visit for a week of fun in Florida.

Lois is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Mark; children Adam Schoop of Carmel, Indiana, and Julie Wemhoff (Charles), and four grandsons; Connor, Carter, Tyler, and Trevor Wemhoff of Carmel, Indiana. Her brother, John Lindstorm (Linda) of Naperville, Illinois, and sister Diane Gleason (Jon) of Crown Point, Indiana, brother in law, David Schoop (Annelie), and sister in law Martha Krop.

A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
