Lois P. Mcguffey

Lois P. McGuffey, 66, of Indianapolis passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014. She was born February 8, 1948 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania to Eleanor Kraus Hayes and the late Edward Hayes. Lois was a long time member of Post Road Christian Church. She was also part of a group of women who met for Bible Study for over 40 years. She survived polio, and became a poster child for its treatment. After retiring from a long career in the insurance industry, she enjoyed cross-stitching, playing piano, and loving her family – all of whom will dearly miss her. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Douglas) Baker; siblings Margaret (Zolton) Gombas, Edward (Linda) Hayes, Elizabeth (Tom) Young, and Nancy Hayes; grandchildren Jacquelyn and Kameron, and a host of other friends and relatives. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her son Edward McGuffey and grandson Jason McGuffey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
