Lois Marie Purdue

Lois M. (Miles) Purdue, age 97 passed away at home on January 10, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 8, 1920 to the late Robert and Lilly (Dennis) Miles in Washington, IN. She was one of ten children. Lois was married 69 years to Virgil N. Purdue who preceded her in death in 2006. Lois was a homemaker all of her life, raising six children. She loved playing cards on weekends with her family. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church for many years. She is survived by two sisters, Irene McHugh of Brownsburg, IN and Phyllis Hughes of Martinsville, IN, daughters, Joann (Gary) Pearson of Indianapolis, IN, Janice Hembree of Myrtle Beach, SC, Nancy Giordano of Indianapolis, IN and sons, Arthur (Connie) Purdue of Indianapolis, IN and Curtis (Tricia) Purdue of Altus, OK. Preceding her in death was her son, Virgil N. Purdue, Jr. Additional survivors are 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren. She will truly missed by her family. Visitation will be held from 2-6 pm Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis. A mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 PM Monday at St. Ann Catholic Church, 6350 S. Mooresville Rd,, Indianapolis, IN 46221. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
