Lois Mae Harner

April 9, 1943 — June 9, 2023

Indianapolis, IN

Lois Mae Harner, 80, of Indianapolis, gained her angel wings on June 9, 2023. She was born on April 9, 1943, in Lebanon, Virginia to her parents, Clyde and Oma Sutherland. Lois was a hardworking woman who did everything she could to provide for her family. She raised her children and grandchildren in the same home she lived in for decades. Lois was the Matriarch of her family. The door to her home was always kept wide open, sharing her love with any extended friend or family member that needed nurturing and support. Although she had 6 biological children, she was a mom to everyone. To say Lois was a wonderful woman, would be an understatement. She was a true angel sent from Heaven, and she will be missed terribly by all the lives she has touched.

Left behind to cherish her memories are her children, Debbie Britt (Mike) Creel, Teresa Britt (Rick) Carroll, Wendy Britt (Scott Robinette), Dean Britt, and Paula Poplicean; her bonus son, Bryan Eastridge; niece, whom she loved dearly and treated like a daughter, Joyce (Tony); brother, James Sutherland; 11 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; and many other extended friends and family members.

She is preceded in death by her son, Joe Poplicean; 5 siblings; and her soulmate of 36 years, Gene Harner. Gene and Lois are now reunited in Heaven, the love they shared here on Earth was once in a lifetime. They were best friends which fostered a relationship that was genuine and pure.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 1PM-3PM, with a funeral service starting at 3PM. All will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229. Lois will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery following the funeral service.

Following the burial, friends and family are invited to Louis J. Jenn Memorial Park, 10450 E. 63rd Street, Indianapolis, IN, 46236, for food and fellowship with the family.
