Lois E. Emery

Lois Elaine (Keller) Emery passed away July 23, 2011 at the age of 79. She was born September 21, 1931 in Lafayette, IN to parents, Aubrey and Hilda Keller. Her husband, Vernon Emery preceded her in death on August 6, 2005. She leaves two children, Cynthia Blankenship and Jerry Emery. She was residing in Marietta, GA with her daughter until her death. She previously lived in Indianapolis, Camby, Cataract, and Danville, Indiana. Lois was one of the first women to enter the computer programming field in the 1960’s and worked for Schwitzer Company for many years, retiring in 1997. She loved to cook, quilt, and crochet, and she enjoyed her friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all. In addition to her children, Lois is survived by 5 grandchildren, Samantha Tran, Brett Blankenship, Martine Emery, Franchesca Emery, and Jacob Emery. She is also survived by two sisters, Sara West in North Carolina and Nadine Raymer in Danville, IN. Services will be held 1 PM on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Decatur Township with visitation there Tuesday, July 26th from 4 to 9 PM.
