Lois Ann Collier-Harvey

Mar 5, 1944 — Jun 17, 2026

Madisonville, Kentucky

  • It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and wife Lois Ann Collier-Harvey. Lois was born to Howard and Lucille Skidmore on March 5,1944, in Harlan Kentucky. She was a graduate of Hall High School in 1962 and achieved her college degree later in life. She began her working career with Alpine Electronics in 1981 until 1994. She then began her career as an International Transportation Logistics Coordinator at Allison Transmission until her retirement in 2014. Lois was a faithful member of the Mars Hill Baptist Church before moving to Kentucky in 2017.

Lois leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her husband Paul Harvey; her children, Connie (Gary) of Harlan, Kentucky; Rick (Anita) of Plainfield, Indiana; Donna (Gary) of Smithville, Tennessee; Greg (Marla) of Martinsville, Indiana; and Tim (Kim) of Indianapolis, Indiana. Her family circle also includes her stepchildren Amanda (Robert) of Manitou, Kentucky, and Paul (Melissa) of Madisonville, Kentucky. She was a proud grandmother to eighteen grandchildren, a great-grandmother to twelve, and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of one great grandchild and her first great-great grandchild. Her legacy is further enriched by two step-granddaughters. Lois is proceeded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years Hershel Collier and a grandson Jacob Collier. Lois is also survived by her siblings Donald Skidmore of Cranks KY and Elaine Middleton of Lafollette TN. As we say farewell, we hold tight to the memories of Lois’s gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the joy she brought to everyone who was privileged to know her. Her legacy is one of strength, compassion, and a deep, abiding pride in her role as a mother and matriarch. She will be missed beyond words but remembered forever in the hearts of all who loved her. Lois Ann Collier-Harvey’s remarkable life will be celebrated on June 26, 2026, at the Flanner Buchanan - Decatur Township, located at 5463 Kentucky Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. The burial will take place later that afternoon at West Newton Cemetery, 7770 Newton St, Indianapolis.
