Linda Sue Thixton

Linda Sue Thixton, 75 of Greenfield, Indiana passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024.  


Linda was born September 18, 1948 in Anderson, Indiana to Don and Bernice Snider.   


Linda graduated from Knightstown High School in 1966 and from Marion County School of Nursing in 1968 as a Register nurse.  She also earned a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Indiana Central College.  Her professional career included working in the ER at St. John’s Hospital in Anderson, the office nurse for Dr. Rynearson in Fortville, and Dr. Kuhn in Wilkerson, Indiana.  Linda worked for many years as the Director of Nursing services for the New Castle School System, retiring in 2009. 

    

Linda enjoyed working with flowers and plants, spending many hours a day creating beautiful gardening and landscaping designs at her home.  Linda also loved helping family and friends, and spending time with her family.  Linda would often drive many miles a day in opposite directions to see all her grandchildren.  

    

Linda is survived by her husband Jim; three children Ron and Steve Walker (Syndi), Amber Nuffer: three step-children; Jimmy Thixton, Jason Thixton (Laura) and Jill Thixton Harris (Mike); grandchildren Riley and Reis Walker, Laney Nuffer, MacKayla Walker, Chase and Ayla Thixton, Oliver and Josophine Harris, Brother; Gary Snider, Nephew and Nieces; Andy snider (Leslie), Kim Snider, Kristina Snider (Bar Saban Cohen), Matt Leary, Amanda Leary Ferrill (Brandon), Erica Leary, Great Nieces and Nephews; Mallory and Avery Snider, Cashton Babcook, Conrad and Camryn Owens, Harlow and Quincy Rowland, Colton and Margaret Leary.

    

Linda was preceeded in death by her parents.  


By Linda’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded.  A private service will be held at Flanner and Buchanan - Washington Park East. 

    

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Linda’s life to Riley Children’s Foundation @Rileykids.org.
