Linda Smith

Linda Smith, 69, of Florence, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026. She was born on February 5, 1957, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Henry Cox and Jeanette Davis.

Linda married the love of her life, William Smith, on May 17, 1997. Together, they shared 29 years of marriage, and a life filled with love and memories. Linda was a woman who found great joy in the simple things in life, especially being surrounded by the people she loved most. She enjoyed going to bingo, visiting the casino from time to time, and playing games on her phone. Most of all, she treasured spending time with her daughter, Melina, and her grandson, Jordan. Her beloved dog, Syl, held an especially precious place in her heart—Linda lovingly considered Syl to be another daughter.

Linda was especially proud when she finally found her dream home. She loved sitting on the porch with William, enjoying the view and simply being together. Those quiet moments were among the many blessings she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Cox and Jeanette Davis; her sister, Sylvia Dawson; and her beloved husband, William Smith.

Linda is survived by her children, Maria Martin, Melina (Timothy) Hill, and Nikki Martin; her grandchildren, Jordan, Chase, James, Clinton, Jazzy, Katelynn, Hailie, Kayden, Kody, and Jada; and her great-grandchildren, Koah and Zariah. She is also survived by her brothers, Steve Sigler, Henry Sigler, William Cox, as well as her best friends Jonah and Veronica.

A private family viewing will take place on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
