Linda Moorewas born into the union of Mr. Lawrence Pennington and Ms. Ailene Adams onDecember 15, 1945 (69) and passed peacefully on December 13, 2015. She ispreceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Aileen Pennington; late husbandof 20 years Booker T. Hollis of Indianapolis, Indiana; brother Sonny Brown; sonSteven A. Moore Sr. and grandson Rodney L. Harris Jr.
Lindaprofessed Christ early in life and attended church with her grandfather (Papa),Pastor Aaron Pennington out of Muncie, IN. In 1992, Linda rededicated her life (alongsideher late husband) becoming members of Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church, whereshe served on the Usher Board for 10 years before she decided that God wantedher to seek him elsewhere. Within her latter months of life under the care ofher family, Linda regularly visited than later joined Eastern Star Church.Linda attended Crispus Attucks High School. Linda became a savvy entrepreneur inher early 30s in which she owned and operated Continental Cleaning Service forover three decades. Linda took great pride in her work, and displayed a levelof professionalism as well as love and compassion towards her employers; seeingthem as if they were her own family. Lindaoperated in the private and public sector of cleaning; the following are just afew of the contracts she held: ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union), HarbourPointe Apartments, Van Rooy Properties. Shealso owned and operated Expressions Unlimited, a greeting card business. Sheheld a contract for several years with the State of Indiana distributinggreeting cards in the State Correctional Facilities. Linda had a passion forlife; she thoroughly enjoyed fine dining, music, travelling, movies (favorite:Passion of Christ), reading (Bible) and family time; but most importantlyhelping and giving back to those in need. Along these lines she has been dubbedas “DIVA” or “Lady Linda” for her exquisite taste and remarkable bearing.
Linda issurvived by her six sisters: Alfreda Grays, Joann Watts, Judy Wilks, AngelaLigon, Jean Davis and Sally Pennington;daughters: Traci D. Meyers, JacquelineM. Harris(Rod) and Constance J. Moore; son: James C. Moore Jr.(Michelle); sixgrandchildren: Hans T. Meyers Jr.(Emilee); Steven A. Moore Jr.; Myles J. Harrisand Jala S. Harris; Leah and Tyvon Moore and four great-grandchildren: Elenaand Malia Meyers; Santana A’syah andSunje’ Ali Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
