Linda Louise Meid

Linda Louise (Myers) Meid, age 71 of Cumberland, Indiana passed away after a short illness on Tuesday morning, April 22, 2025.

Linda was born on May 24, 1953 in Jacksonville, Florida to William Irving and Everlyn Louise (Pipkin) Myers. The family relocated to Mt. Morris Michigan, where she grew up with her brothers Michael and William. Linda graduated from Mt. Morris High School and went on to earn a degree in music education from Central Michigan University. She pursued graduate studies in clarinet performance at the University of Iowa, continuing to nurture her deep love of music. After moving to Maryland, she met and married Jeffrey Meid after connecting over a shared love of the bible.

Linda was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She devoted herself to her children, staying at home with them through their childhoods before re-entering the workforce. She dedicated 24 years to the students of Warren Township schools, spending the bulk of her tenure working in multiple libraries where she developed a passion for instilling in children a love of reading. She served on the Young Hoosier Award Committee for many years, vetting books for children and young adults, and helping create curriculum for the classroom.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years Jeffrey; 3 children, Kirsten Meid (Pat Little), Erin Meid, and Micah Meid; grandchild Rosalyn "Rosie" Little; brother William Myers; and many other loving family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and younger brother Michael Myers.
