Linda L. Hall (nee Williams) died peacefully on Friday, April 24, in Indianapolis, at the age of 85. The daughter of Rosemary (Atkinson) and Roger Q. Williams of Portland, IN, Linda graduated from Portland High School in 1958. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lee G. Hall, and a daughter, Lissa L. Houser, of Westfield, IN. She is survived by one daughter, Betsy L. Houser, of Indianapolis, IN.
A lover of antiques, Linda was a member of Psi Iota Xi local sorority and involved in their annual antique shows. Linda was known for her keen sense of aesthetics, evidenced in her personal style, and as a talented hair stylist. A perfectionist at heart, she strove to make others look good.
In 1983, Linda married Lee G. Hall of Portland, IN, and enjoyed using her gift for creating beauty in their home and garden. She was a member of the local garden club and bridge Club. She was also a member of Asbury Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church, both in Portland. As a member of the Portland Country Club, she honed her golfing skills. She was also a naturally superb dancer, and continued dancing after moving to Indianapolis. A fun-loving person, she had an extroverted ease in encouraging others to come together, whether it was at a New Years Eve dance or a Bible study.
Linda was a multi-faceted woman who will be greatly missed. Given her love of animals, donations may be made to the Jay County Humane Society, 1376 W Votaw St, Portland, IN 47371.
