Linda Kay Treat

Linda K. Treat passed away on February 27, 2022, at the age of 73.  Linda was born in Milan, IN on September 3, 1948, to parents Lowell Bell and Katherine Mary (Shorten) Wells.  She graduated from Lawrence Central High School.

Linda was a dedicated wife, mother, sister and friend.  She had served as President of the Lawrence Elementary PFO; headed up her Neighborhood Association and was instrumental in the creation of her neighborhood crime watch.  She loved hummingbirds, tending to her flower garden and decorating for the holidays- especially Halloween.  Linda served on the Lawrence City Council, District 2, from 2003-2015. In 2015, she vacated her seat to run for Mayor of the City of Lawrence.  Linda had also served as office manager for T&M Associates and Rollins Construction; the Medical Records Manager for MedCheck; and as a realtor for Tucker Real Estate.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Katherine Wells and infant sister, Janet Raye.

Linda is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ronald Treat, whom she married at St. Simon Catholic Church in Indianapolis, IN on July 23, 1966.  She is also survived by her daughter, Stacey Elich (Mike); grandsons, Anthony and Garrett Elich; sister, Colleen Morgan; brother, Rick Wells (Rita); and many other loving extended family members and beloved friends.

Friends may call from 4pm until 8pm on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple (1305 Broad Ripple Ave, Indpls), where funeral services will follow on Friday, March 4^th at 2pm.

Additional calling will be held from 10am until 11am on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home (707 S. Main Street, Milan, IN).  Graveside services will immediately follow calling on Saturday at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery (Milan, IN).
