Linda Kay (Johnson) Connor, 75 of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday September 14, 2021. She was born on February 28, 1946 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Threll and Virginia Johnson. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lilly Rose.
As one of three sisters, she grew up on Gladstone Avenue, affectionately referred to as “Happy Rock” and was a graduate of Howe High school. She went on to pursue a career in the medical field, becoming first a Lab Technician at Winona Hospital for many years and later worked as an LPN in various capacities; namely on skilled Alzheimer Units in Nursing Homes and also, as private care for the elderly.
After retirement she lovingly looked after her many grandchildren and spoiled her two grown children. She enjoyed cooking for others, loved to share and study God’s Word, was always generous in spirit and gave to various charities, was an avid reader and self taught historian, had an eye for beauty and interior design, loved a rare find and walked many an aisle at the local thrift store, and always dressed to impress with a unique flair for fashion.
Lin is survived by her daughter, Julia (Zach) Frizzell; son, Josh (Stephanie) Griffin; grandchildren, Caitlin Sanders, Jacob Rose, Anica Rose, Charlotte Frizzell, Julian Frizzell, Dever Griffin, Jordis Griffin, Vander Griffin, Adler Griffin and bonus granddaughter, Emma Huber. Great granddaughter, Leilani Harris; and sisters, Karen Gilliland and Marylee Miller.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 24, 2021 beginning at 1:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229), where a funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital.
