Linda Sue Donaldson

Linda Sue Donaldson, 78, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, reunited with her beloved husband, Gary, whom she walked beside for 54 years. Born on August 7, 1947, in Indianapolis to her late parents John and Maxine Troutman, Linda was the cornerstone of the Donaldson family, providing unwavering support through Gary’s military service and his extensive Police Officer career with Speedway Police Department and Marion County Sheriff’s Department.

Married on July 22, 1966, Linda was a devoted wife and mother whose life was centered on her family. Linda had a deep compassion for animals and was a lifelong lover of dogs and cats; she was known for her kind heart, often giving a loving home to strays and finding immense joy in the companionship of her pets over the years. Many animals came to the porch. We called her Snow White.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary E. Donaldson. She is survived by her children, Patrick Donaldson and Pamela (Mike) Chesher; sisters, Kathy (Bill) Wainscott and Janice (Jerry) Burk; her sister-in-law, Gloria Summerlot; and the six grandchildren who were her greatest pride: Reese Chesher, Carter Chesher, Bailey Chesher, Shelby Andersen, Taylor Andersen, Logan Donaldson and Great Grandson Micah.

Service Information: A public Visitation will be held on March 21st from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway, 2950 N High School Road, with a celebration of life following immediately from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the same location.

Linda was cremated, and her inurnment will take place from 2:00 pm – 2:15 pm at West Ridge Park Cemetery, 9295 West 21st Street, Indianapolis.
