Lila Lee (Gish) Shaw, 86, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. She was born on June 27, 1927 in Jenks, Oklahoma to Harry Lee and Hazel Lee (Clark) Gish. Lila grew up in Stafford, KS and graduated from Stafford High School in 1945. She attended Sterling College where she met the love of her life, David McClelland Shaw. They lived in Pennsylvania before settling in Marion, Indiana. In 1999, she and David moved to Harrison, Arkansas where they were members of the First Presbyterian Church and Lila served as a Moderator for the Presbyterian Women. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. She is survived by her children, Gary Lee (Virginia) Shaw and Cindy Shaw Rouse – Baird (Robert Baird); 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Lila is also survived by her sisters, Donna Marie (Gish) Roberts and Theresa (Gish) Fritzemeier; and brother, Dale Gish. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Shaw who passed away in 2011. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013 at John Knox Presbyterian Church at 11am, with visitation 1 hour prior. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 10am in the East Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Cheswick, PA. Memorial contributions may be given to John Knox Presbyterian Church or to The Second Mile Center of Detroit, a non-profit organization focused on inner city youth: 18391 Morang Detroit, MI 48205.
