Lester Hammons

Lester R. Hammons, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away, Saturday, August 3, 2013. He was born January 8, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN the son of Elmer and Kate Hammans. Lester was raised by Benjamin and Esther Kliene and they preceded him in death. He was a truck driver for Kroger for 28 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Teamsters Local 135. Lester was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Pamela Hammons in 1954 and 4 brothers and 1 sister. Lester is survived by his wife, Opal (Flack) Hammons; sons, Michael (Gayle), Don and David; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229, burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
