Lesley William Elliott, age 87, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away on August 9, 2026. He was born on January 8, 1939, on a farm in Sweetwater, Oklahoma, to Lawrence and Lucille Elliott.

Raised on a farm as one of eleven siblings, Lesley’s childhood in Sweetwater shaped his lifelong values of hard work and perseverance. After completing high school, he pursued higher education at the University of Indianapolis, where he earned his degree in Business Administration and Economics in 1964.

Upon graduating, Lesley began a lifetime professional journey with International Harvester in Indianapolis. Entering the company through a management training program, he demonstrated both natural leadership and a tireless work ethic. Over the course of 31 years, he rose through the ranks and ultimately retired as superintendent.

Lesley found his greatest joy in his family. On October 24, 1965, in Marion, Indiana, he married the love of his life, Phyllis J. Elliott. Together, they built a partnership rooted in respect, laughter, and steadfast support, celebrating 60 wonderful years of marriage. Lesley’s devotion to Phyllis and his family remained the central joy and priority of his life.

Lesley is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Phyllis J. Elliott; children, Catherine (Mitchell) Cox, Sondra (Mark) Hopper, Tom (Lois) Fisher, Michael (Diane) Fisher and Doug (Joy) Elliott; his grandchildren; his twin brother, Wesley Elliott; and many other family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his 9 brothers and sisters.

A memorial gathering for Lesley will be from 11am – 1pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite) – 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250, with a memorial service immediately following at 1pm. He will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
