Lesa Lynn Underwood Bowley, 52, of Indianapolis died December 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 3, 1963 in Henderson, Kentucky to Hillary Lee and Lelia Eloise Cobb Underwood. In 1983, Lesa married the love of her life Bill. They added to their family with daughter Rachel and later son Tyler.
Lesa enjoyed partnering with her husband in ministry for the last 32 years and served as a mentor to many young women during that time. She defied many odds in her lifetime giving her a heart full of empathy and love for others. When Lesa was not helping others or spending quality time with her family, she could be found planning their next travels or relaxing with some retail therapy. She will be remembered as a strong family woman who spoke her mind and served others by providing love and direction.
She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years Bill Bowley; her daughter Rachel (Andy) Zuber and son Tyler Bowley; she was known as Noni to her grandchildren Rylie, Cohen, and Emery; sister of Dwain Underwood and Lori (Robin) Zimmerman; aunt of Kelsey Underwood, Kaitlin Underwood, Olivia Zimmerman, and Emma Zimmerman; niece of Sharon Cobb Wilson; half-sister of Paul and David Underwood; and step-daughter of Sue Underwood.
Preceding her in death were her parents Hillary Lee and Lelia Eloise Cobb Underwood and her grandmother who helped raise her after her mother’s premature death Geneva Cobb.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 30 from 2 to 8 PM at Post Road Christian Church, 1112 N. Post Rd, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, December 31 at Post Road Christian Church with visitation 10 AM until the time of service. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Garden of Memories in Maysville, Kentucky.
