Leonard George Koerber, 81, Indianapolis, died February 13, 2015. Born February 24, 1933, to Eleanora (Knier) and John Koerber, St. Nazianz, WI. A graduate of the Salvatorian Seminary at St. Nazianz, St. Francis Seminary, and Marquette University, he taught high school in Milwaukee, Graham, NC, and Indianapolis before earning his doctorate in education at Indiana University. Married 57 years to Patti (Pickett). He was professor emeritus, having taught at the IU School of Dentistry 1970-1997, and an active parishioner and choir member at Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Ann. Survived by his wife; children John, Lisa (Bill) Barks, Susannah, and William; grandchildren Caron, Lauren and Eddie Barks; brother Francis Koerber of Cleveland, WI and sister Catherine Plummer Dickson of North Port, FL.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 6350 S. Mooresville Rd, Indianapolis, IN. Visitation will be Monday, February 16th from 4-7 PM at Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur Twp. He will be buried at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Ann Building Fund or Brebeuf Jesuit.
