Leon E. Hansen 83, Indianapolis, passed away October 3, 2011.He was born in Rensselaer IN on Nov. 28, 1927 to the late Felix and Anna (Gross) Hansen. He married the love of his life, Ruth A. Hasty on April 10, 1945. Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Ruth Hansen; son Terry Hansen; daughter, Carol A(Harvey) King; brother, Bob Hansen; sister, Annie Halsema; grandchildren, John Hansen, Terra Hansen, Lori Harwood and Christina Ransom; 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Leon worked for the Steel Mill in Gary IN, the Railroad, Bakery and Milk Route in Rensselaer. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hansen owned the Huddle Inn in Rensselaer, Harvester Bar and Bar 52 in Indpls Leon belonged to the First Christian Church in Rensselaer where he was an Elder and the Franklin Central Church where he served as Deacon. Leon enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing horse shoes and darts. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling to their Fl. condo where he could walk on the beach, have a cold beer and a good laugh. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00-8:00PM at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington St. A funeral will be Friday at 12:00 noon at the funeral center.
