Lee Richard Dye

Lee Richard Dye, age 83 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

Lee was born on June 22, 1942 in Pineville, Kentucky, a son of Alex and Lola (Smith) Dye.

Lee married Geraldine Dye on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1962 in Sneedville, Tennessee.

He especially loved NASCAR and spending time with his grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Geraldine Dye.

He is also survived by his children: Jack Dye of Indianapolis, Danny (wife Linda) Dye of Mooresville, IN, Michael (wife Donna) Dye of Mooresville, IN and Terry Dye of Indianapolis.

Many grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.

He is preceded in death by his only sister, Alice Napier, as well as his grandsons Alec Dye and Terry Dye Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 2:00 PM at West Newton Cemetery, located at 6701 Milton Street, Indianapolis, IN 46221.

Pastor Andy Mox of Friendswood Baptist Church will officiate.

Everyone attending the graveside service is asked to please meet directly at West Newton Cemetery on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 1:45 PM.
