Lawrence (‘Larry’) Weinberg, born in Marion, Indiana November 14, 1933, peacefully passed away on May 19, 2023 with his loving family and tremendous caregivers by his side. Larry raised his family in Muncie, Indiana before moving to Indianapolis in 1986.
He is preceded in death by his parents Belle and Jacob Weinberg, his twin brother Ted, and his grandson Max. He is survived by his sister, Sharon Mandell.
His surviving immediate family includes his adored wife and partner of 50 years, Arlene Weinberg, and his children Lori Katz, Steve Weinberg, Caryn Frankovitz (Steven) and Rachel Silverman (David), and special family members Alan Atlas and Beth Weinberg. He is survived by ten grandchildren (Jacob, Haley, Sam, Jacob, Helen, Noah, Aaron, Josh, Lily and Dena) and three great grandchildren (Josephine, Golda and Jackson).
Larry deeply treasured his family and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Larry and his brother Ted ran successful newspaper and magazine agencies and owned several bookstores for nearly thirty years. He was an avid reader, lover of history and sports (especially the Colts), student of civics, and a proud Navy veteran and American citizen.
