Lawrence Meadows

LAWRENCE PHILLIP MEADOWS Lawrence Phillip "Popaw" Meadows, of Pinson, AL, and formerly of Indianapolis, passed away September 18, 2011. Phil was a graduate of Lawrence Central High School. He was retired from Chrysler Corporation with 35 years of service. Phil was a member of Church of the Highlands, owner of P. M. Janitorial Service, and loved fishing. He was also a school bus driver for Jefferson County, Alabama schools. Phil was a veteran of the US Army Reserve and was involved with the church bus ministry in Indiana. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherri Lynn Meadows, his parents Durward and Helena Meadows, and his brother, Gregory Meadows. Phil is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jacque Meadows; his daughter, Stacy Davis (Dr. John); his son, Derrick Meadows; his sisters, Jody Meadows and Donna Berry; his brother, Jack Meadows (Vicki); his aunt, Edith Stafford; his granddaughters, Hannah McCay, Madison McCay, and Eternity Meadows; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Saturday, September 24 at 1 PM at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, with calling from 11 AM until service time. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
