Lawrence Eugene Gordon

Lawrence Eugene “Gene” Gordon, 90, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on September 22, 2026. He was born on April 11, 1936, in Orestes, Indiana, to parents, the late Paul Raymond and Florence Elizabeth (Lamberton) Gordon. In April 1961, he married the love of his life, Patricia (Knotek) Gordon, and together they built a life filled with devotion, family, and faith. Their marriage spanned 65 years, until her recent passing..

Gene honorably served his country in multiple branches of the military, including the Indiana National Guard, the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Naval Reserves. Following his military service, he dedicated over 25 years of his professional life to General Telephone & Electronics (GTE).

Lawrence was a man who truly loved the outdoors and embraced a life of adventure. Alongside his beloved wife, Pat, he traveled across the country on their motorcycle, creating a lifetime of memories on the open road. They enjoyed spending their winters RVing in St. Augustine, Florida, escaping the cold to enjoy the sunshine and community there.

Gene is survived by his children, Alan (Kate) Gordon, Chris (Sheri) Gordon, Tim (Tina) Gordon, and Kerry (Doug) Harris; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Florence Gordon; his wife, Patricia Gordon; his brother Raymond Gordon, sister Martha Baysinger, and his granddaughter, Veronica Wasik.

Visitation for Gene will be from 11 am – 2 pm on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), 4180 Westfield Road, Westfield, Indiana 46062, with a funeral service immediately following at 2 pm. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery, in Marion, Indiana.

Memorial contributions in Gene's name may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
