Lawrence E. Brackin, Sr.
65, of New Palestine, passed away, Wednesday, March 2, 2011. He was born to the late Paul and Norma Brackin, on September 19, 1945, in Indianapolis. His family originated from Vincennes. Since birth, he has been a life long resident of Indianapolis.
Larry has been a member of the Brookside Masonic Lodge No. 720 since 1972, and has been a 32° Shriner since 1973. He has owned several local businesses, such as the Glen’s Cabaret and the Little Spot Taverns. Larry enjoyed participating in the Sahara Grotto Mini Patrol, being an avid Colts and sports fan in general, and loved to gamble, play cards, fish, and be with family.
He has always been a loving family man, as he will be dearly missed by his wife of 47 years, Linda Brackin; sons, Larry Brackin, Ron (Chris) Brackin, Paul Brackin, Curtis (Samantha) Brackin; brother, Robert Brackin; sister, Karen Sue Hall; grandchildren, Lawrence Brackin III, Heather Washington, Tiffany Brackin-Peterson, Ashley, Elizabeth, Chase, and Grant Brackin; great-grandchildren, Elayshia Washington, Danez Washington, Kayden Brackin, and Ailin Peterson.
Visitation for Larry will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street. A masonic service will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral center. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the funeral center. Entombment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
