Lawrence Patrick Curley

Lawrence “Pat” Curley, 83, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away on May 12, 2025. He was born on April 2, 1942, in Indianapolis, to parents, John D. Curley and Doris (Richardson) Curley.

After high school, Pat enlisted in the Army in 1961. He eventually became a U.S. Army Cryptographer, stationed in Minneapolis, MN. There, he met Sharon, the love of his life, behind the counter at Zips Drug Store. They married a year later, on October 5, 1962.

Pat went to work at Sperry Univac in Minneapolis, MN in 1967, where he got involved in the union movement. In 1971, he was elected to be Business Manager of the International Brotherhood of the Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 2047. In 1977, he was appointed an International Representative of the IBEW, and then was elected Vice President of the 6th District in 2001. He retired from the IBEW in 2005. He was able to enjoy his retirement for almost 20 years, 18 of which with his beloved wife, Sharon.

Pat is survived by his sons, Michael “Mike” (Maria Curley) Curley, John Curley and Robert “Bob” Curley; his grandchildren, Chelsea Clark, Matt Curley, and Erin Curley; his great grandchild, Connor Clark; his brother and sisters, Mike Curley, Karen Blankenbaker, Mary Lyman, Joan Compton, Jane Curley, and Kathleen Curley.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon Curley; his parents; his grandchild, Sean Curley; his brothers and sisters, Martin Curley, John B. Curley, Elizabeth Curley, Margaret Curley, Thomas Curley, and James Curley.

A Memorial Gathering for Pat will be from 5pm-7pm on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite) – 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250. A Funeral Mass will take place the following day on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 10:30am at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, with an additional gathering from 9:30am-10:30am - 11441 Hague Rd, Fishers, IN 46038. Burial with military honors will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery following the conclusion of the mass.
