Lavon B. Thompson
76 of Indianapolis, IN died on March 27, 2014. He was born to the late Cecil Lavon and Martha Kendall Thompson on December 9, 1937. He was a Truck Driver for A & R Trucking and previously for McClean Trucking and previously worked as a butcher for the Thompson's grocery store. He was a member of the NRA, Teamsters Local #135, and Lynhurst Baptist Church. Lavon loved life and the beauty that surrounded him and would capture that on canvas painting pictures and providing many of these works of art to family members.He had a wonderful sense of humor and passed that along to his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Jane L. (Wright) Thompson, children, Theresa Hatcher, Jenny Baker, Mary Reasoner, Richard Thompson, John Thompson, Larry Thompson, 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and brothers, Bill Thompson and Bob Keeler. Services will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 11 AM with Pastor Ben Wakefield officiating at Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur Township with visitation there on Monday, March 31st 4-8PM. Burial will be at Floral Park Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made to the American Cancer Society.
