Laverne A. Spears

LaVerne A. Spears, 51 of Westfield passed away at her home Tuesday, January 9, 2018.  LaVerne was born November 2, 1966 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Anderson and Lillie Potts Ervin.  She was a 1988 graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla.

LaVerne was an electrical engineer at Allison Transmission as Manager, Electrical Components.  She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon Thursday, January 18 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel, where family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 am until the time of the service.

LaVerne is survived by her husband of 28 years, Andre; children, Andre T. Jr., Nigel A., Alexis T. and Sydney E. Spears; sister, Erlean (husband, Bobby) Hopkins; brothers, Larry (wife, Annette) Ervin, Freddy (wife, Patricia) Ervin, Floyd Ervin, Curtis Ervin and Twana Dollison (Eric); mother and father-in-law, Johnnie and Audrey Spears; sister-in-law, Janice (husband, Alan) Fields; brother-in-law, Derek Spears.  She was preceded in death by her brother, John Ervin.
