Laverna “Barbara” Pieper

British Isles of Turks and Caicos Islands,

Laverna “Barbara” Pieper was called to her eternal resting place on June 4, 2021 at the age of 71.

Barbara was born on August 16, 1949 to the late Clarence Jolly and Gloria Bascomb-Jolly in the British Isles of Turks and Caicos Islands; she was one of six girls. Barbara married Michael H. Pieper Sr.  and moved stateside to Indianapolis, Indiana; where they also brought and raised their five children. Barbara was an Executive Chef at a Butler University sorority house, which was later dubbed “Kappa Kappa Grandma” in her honor. Barbara retired early from her position after 20 years of service. She was well known for her excellent hospitality, larger than life personality, and contagious laugh.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Michael H. Pieper Sr.; daughters Barbara Jackson and Sophia Coleman; son’s Michael Pieper Jr., David Pieper, and Richard Pieper; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; several loves ones and friends.

Barbara’s memorial services are being held at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park (9350 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229).
