Laura E. Dragoo Age 86 of Indianapolis, passed away on September 18, 2010 at Wellington Manor Health Care Center, where she had been a resident for the past ten years. She was born in Auburn, Kentucky on June 18, 1924 to the late O.B. and Mattie (Pugh) Hundley. Laura graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1942. She worked as a telephone operator for Indiana Bell Telephone Company. She also worked as a cook and custodian at New Palestine Elementary and High School. Laura was a time keeper for the U.S. Army Finance Center and in 1978 she was a payroll clerk for the circulation department of the Indianapolis Star and News, retiring in 1990. Laura was an accomplished seamstress and a 4-H leader. She was a member of the Ellenberger United Church of Christ. She was the mother of twin daughters, Sally Hart and her husband James, and Susan Bardes and her husband David, of Indianapolis. She is also survived by a sister, June Butler of Greenwood; grandchildren, Andy (Pam Marcoff) Richter, Randy (Jennifer) Richter, Chris Bardes, Dr. April (Greg) Johnson and John (Lisa) Richter, great grandchild Samantha V. Johnson, step grandchildren, Cevven (Dee Ann) Hart and Lezlie Hart, Great grandchildren Mariah and Travis Daley, and several nieces and nephews. Laura was preceded in death by her sister Georgia Palmer of New Palestine. Laura will be sadly missed by her family. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Flanner Buchanan Funeral Center-Washington Park East from 11 am till the funeral service at 1 pm. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Indiana Alzheimer’s Association, 9135 N. Meridian Street, Suite B-4, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
