Larry Franklin Leiner, 79, Port Charlotte, FL, went home to be with his Lord February 26, 2024. He was born in Saginaw, MI to Daniel F. Leiner and Wanda June (Greenwood) Leiner. Larry was an over the road truck driver for over 50 years. For approximately 20 years, he had a band and toured the upper Midwest. As a Vietnam veteran, serving in the US Army, he continued to be active in the VFW.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, William Armbruster, daughter, Melissa Leiner, brother-in-law, Bill Collison, and sister-in-law, Darlene Greenwood.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Nancy (Alsop) Leiner, children, Richard (Nadine) Leiner, Michelle (Dave) LaFreniere, Amber Miller, step-children, Jason (Celeste) Lane and Jacquelyn (Bruno) Afonso, siblings, John (Amy) Armbruster, Ed Greenwood, and Mary Collison, grandchildren, Allison (Jerry) Landskroener, Robert Leiner, Jade (Tristan) Walker, Blake Leiner, Joseph Afonso, Alexiana Afonso, Cassia Afonso, Gabriella Afonso, Leona Lane, Grayson Lane, and Alanna Lane, and great-grandchildren, Alexis Wiercinski, Robert Leiner, Jr., McKinley Walker, and Grayson Walker.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Carmel Post 10003, 12863 Old Meridian St. Carmel, IN 46032.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 8th at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Good Shepherd Chapel), 9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, from 10:30 -12:00pm. Funeral services will begin there at 12pm.
