Larry L. Gleeson, 73, Carmel, passed away on April 15, 2015 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. Larry was born on November 29, 1941 in Jay County, IN to the late Percy and Freda (Steed) Gleeson. Larry graduated from Gov. I.P. Gray High School in Jay County. After graduating from Purdue University, Larry joined the Army and was proudly accepted into the Officer Candidates' School. He worked for over 40 years in Insurance Claims in the Indianapolis area. Larry played baseball and slow pitch softball for over 50 years. He also enjoyed golf, bowling, and watching his Purdue Boilermakers and St. Louis Cardinals, but his greatest enjoyment was spoiling his three grandchildren as their "Peeps". Larry was a faithful member of Woodland Springs Christian Church (now Hazel Dell Christian Church) and held many leadership positions at both churches. Larry was very proud of his Irish heritage and was especially happy when he visited Ireland. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Kay; two daughters, Libby (Dirk) Willms, Liberty Twp., OH and Christy (Andy) Dempster, Carmel, IN; three grandchildren, Whitney, Jack, and Emily Willms; two sisters, Norma Gleeson, Rock Springs, WY and Marilyn (Larry) Music, Louisville, KY; sister-in-law, Darlene Gleeson, Dunkirk, IN; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Larry in death are two brothers, Kenneth Gleeson and Gene Gleeson; and nephew, Kerry Gleeson. The family wishes to thank the staff at Riverwalk Village for the loving care given to Larry during his stay in their Memory Care Unit. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at Hazel Dell Christian Church in Carmel.
