Larry Griggs

Mr. Larry Griggs, 73, passed away October 4th, 2026. He was born in Indianapolis on August 27th, 1954, to parents James and Sharon (Clubs) Griggs.

Larry grew up in Indianapolis. As a teenager, he met the love of his life, Deborah “Debbie” Hamilton. They married and shared over 45 wonderful years together. Debbie passed away in July, 2018.

A very hard worker, Larry worked as a brick layer and was a part of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union.

Larry was a friendly, loving gentleman, with a great sense of humor. Very social, Larry never met a stranger. He was a diehard IU fan and had great admiration for Bob Knight. Larry enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida to soak up the warm weather. He was devoted to his family and adored his two sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. Larry will be remembered as a genuine, generous man.

He is survived by his sons Larry Griggs (Heather) and Craig Griggs (Shawn); grandchildren Taryn, Abbie, Shelby, Zach, Maddie, Jordan, Tyler; great grandchildren Lucy, Michael, Josephine, Elizabeth, Samuel, Penelope; siblings Kevin Horsely, and Rusty Horsely; nieces Michelle Rico, Kathy Moss, nephews Kevin and Kyle Horsely, along with many other nieces, nephews and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Debbie; and his siblings Mike, Jimmy, Mitzi, and Rhonda.

Visitation for Larry will be Monday Oct 13th, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East from 4-8pm. Additional visitation will be Tuesday Oct 14th, 10am-12pm, and his funeral will begin at 12pm.
